- Evaluation of methodology used in sociometric network research as applied to the study of HIV, HCV, and other bloodborne infectious diseases
- Vaccine acceptability and uptake from individual- and network-level theoretical and methodological perspectives
- Application of social network analysis to better understand the spread of disease among high-risk populations and to inform more effective dissemination strategies for interventions
- Substance abuse, particularly nonmedical use of prescription drugs and behaviors associated with HIV and HCV transmission
- Rural health disparities, with a focus on rural Appalachia
